Designed by the Guangzhou artist, the Jason Deng x Nike Dunk Low Pro SB ‘Street Hawker’ pays homage to Chinese street food vendors and Chinese food culture at large. The low-top sports mismatched uppers covered in unique materials, colors, and Deng’s watercolor graphics, the individual details representing six regional dishes from six Chinese cities. They’re joined by additional cuisine-inspired flourishes, including a wood-grain Swoosh that nods to chopsticks, a blue-tinged sockliner representing porcelain bowls, and a coppery toe box standing in for boiling chili oil. On each heel tab, ‘food’ is spelled out in embroidered Chinese calligraphy.
